Salt lakes

Torrevieja is best known for its two salt lakes: The Salinas of Torrevieja and La Mata. In the past, a lot of salt was extracted from these lakes. Although salt extraction still takes place, it is now mainly a tourist attraction. You can walk on mountains of salt here, and enjoy the beautiful view of the pink lake water!
